XRossspace Showcase presents the most innovative immersive XR works from Poland. It explores various hybrid forms, narratives and creativity that are driven and inspired by technology.

In XRossspace, virtuality and physicality are not in opposition, but they interpenetrate one another. This hybrid showcase includes works that reveal the intriguing correlations of Polish VR and AR with literature (Stanisław Lem), games, urban and performance art, as well as new works selected in open calls for the best AR filer and VR experience. It not only reveals a new face of film art, but also goes beyond the limits of cinematic expression.

The first edition of XRossspace is titled “On the Other Side”, and it refers to the experiences which stimulate the imagination and the body, creates tensions, can transform and delight, and confront us with our hidden fears and desires. “On the Other Side”, we can find our digital alter ego, a reflection of ourselves, an invitation to discover virtual matter intertwined with physical feedback, a source of undiscovered possibility.

XRossspace Showcase is organised by the Polish Cultural Institute in London, the Kinoteka Polish Film Festival, the British Film Institute (BFI Expanded – curator Ulrich Schrauth) and Holycircuit. Partners: Photon Foundation, Polish Producers Alliance (KIPA).
